Employing a "physical blocking" approach, the ZQN-DL-NH Bird Deterrent Box (also known as the Bird-Proof Blocking Box) from Shenzhen Zhenqu Bird Technology installs "safety caps" on critical sections of towers and poles. This design prevents birds from nesting while protecting insulators, making it an essential foundational tool for bird prevention in power grids.
The design concept of the ZQN-DL-NH Bird-Proof Box (also known as the Bird-Proof Sealing Box) is straightforward: it addresses the gaps above insulators on crossarms by customizing a semi-enclosed box-shaped structure to seal these openings. This prevents birds from perching while also blocking falling objects that could damage insulators. Specifically, its protective mechanism operates in two steps:
1. Block nesting spaces, leaving birds nowhere to build nests.
Bird deterrent boxes are installed on the crossarm directly above the insulator mounting point. The box body fits snugly against the crossarm, completely covering the gap within it. When birds attempt to build nests in the crossarm gap, they find the space that would normally accommodate nesting materials blocked by the deterrent box. They cannot place branches or wire, nor can they secure a nest base. Even if birds try to perch on the box surface, they cannot find a flat nesting surface and are forced to abandon their attempt.
2. Prevent falling objects and protect insulators.
When birds are active on other parts of the tower, any feathers, droppings, or small twigs that fall can be directly blocked by the bird guard housing, preventing these debris from landing on the insulator surface. Even during severe weather such as hail or strong winds, the bird guard reduces the likelihood of foreign objects striking the insulators, thereby extending their service life.
Even more thoughtfully, we can design differently shaped enclosures (such as rectangular or curved) to accommodate the varying crossarm structures of straight towers, tension towers, and angle towers, ensuring a snug fit during installation.
