A stable supply of electricity is particularly important for daily life and industrial production. However, the safe operation of the power grid is sometimes disrupted by bird activity. Birds are particularly fond of nesting and resting on tall utility poles and transmission towers, and their droppings can easily cause “insulator flashovers,” leading to circuit breakers tripping and power outages. In addition, bird nests are built from various materials such as twigs and wire, which can catch fire under certain conditions, posing a threat to the safety of power transmission lines.

To address this issue, the power industry commonly installs bird deterrents. Shenzhen Zhenquniao Technology’s multi-functional new-generation power line bird repeller ZQN-DL-ZN2 primarily repels birds through two methods. The first is ultrasound, which emits high-frequency sound waves inaudible to humans, causing discomfort to the birds and prompting them to leave the area voluntarily. This method does not actually harm the birds and is considered a relatively gentle form of repellence.

The second method is acoustic bird deterrence. The device emits the calls of birds’ natural predators, such as eagles, or sudden, loud noises like the clanging of gongs or the sound of firecrackers. These sounds alert the birds to potential danger in the vicinity, naturally deterring them from approaching power facilities. By combining ultrasonic and acoustic methods, birds find it difficult to adapt, so the deterrent effect lasts longer.
