Bird activity is one of the major causes of power line failures. When nesting on towers, defecating, or flying, birds may carry debris such as twigs or wire, or excrete conductive bird droppings. If these substances short-circuit a string of insulators or an air gap, they can form a discharge path, causing the line to trip or even resulting in equipment damage. Such faults not only affect the reliability of power supply but also pose a long-term risk to the stable operation of power facilities.
To address this challenge, Shenzhen Zhenqu Bird Control has introduced the No-Bend Bird Spikes, offering a protective solution that combines practicality and durability. The design concept is straightforward: once installed, the spikes naturally fan out to form a physical barrier that prevents birds from approaching critical equipment areas. These spikes generate a constant, slight vibration in the breeze, preventing birds from finding a stable perch and causing them to actively avoid the area. Additionally, the spikes feature a striking red color, which capitalizes on birds’ sensitivity to color to further enhance the deterrent effect and reduce the likelihood of birds congregating near the towers.

In terms of material selection, this product prioritizes reliability for long-term outdoor use. The prongs are made of a highly tough material, offering excellent resistance to bending and impact; they are unlikely to deform or break under external forces. The positioning plates and base that secure the prongs are made of polycarbonate, produced through a single-step injection molding process. This results in a dense, uniform structure with outstanding resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and high temperatures, while maintaining excellent insulation properties, enabling the product to withstand the complex operating environments of outdoor electrical facilities.

Ease of installation is another important consideration. The base of the bird-deterrent spikes is equipped with D48 series high-performance neodymium magnets, which provide strong magnetic force and allow them to be securely attached to the surface of steel towers; even in strong winds, they are unlikely to shift or fall off. No complex tools or additional fasteners are required, thereby improving on-site work efficiency. This device is widely applicable to transmission lines, substations, and other outdoor high-voltage power equipment. It provides an economical and efficient protective barrier for power systems, helping to reduce the incidence of bird-related faults and enhance the safety and stability of grid operations.
